How Can I Get Motivated to Exercise?

In some lands, young people are spending less time being physically active, and it is putting their health at risk. Is exercise beneficial for the body? Why should i exercise?

Consider the following:

1. Exercise can improve your outlook. Physical activity releases endorphins—brain chemicals that make you feel relaxed and happy. Some call exercise a natural antidepressant.

2. Exercise can help you look your best. Balanced exercise will help you become stronger, fitter, and more likely to project self-confidence.

3. Exercise can prolong your life. Being active benefits your cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Aerobic exercise can also help prevent coronary artery disease—a leading cause of death for both men and women.

Conclusion: Exercise has huge health benefits for the future, and it can be rewarding right now. Just as a car that is neglected stops working, the same can be true of our body if we neglect exercise.

So the question is;

What’s holding me back?

These are several potential obstacles such as no incentive, no time or no gym membership.

So what is your biggest obstacle to exercise? Overcoming that obstacle will take some work, but the results will be worth it.

How can I get the exercise I need?

Try the following suggestions

1.Take responsibility for your health.

2. Avoid making excuses. For example, you don’t need to sign up at a gym to start your exercise program. Just find an activity that you enjoy and make it part of your routine.

3. To get ideas, ask others what they do for exercise.

3. Have a specific schedule. Set goals and log your progress to keep yourself motivated.

4. Find someone to exercise with you. A “workout buddy” will cheer you on and help you stick to a routine.

5. Expect setbacks, and don’t give up when you face them.

 Be balanced

Be balanced about exercise. People who take working out to extremes often come across as vain.

Also beware of ‘fitness inspiration’ posters that flaunt slogans such as “When you feel like dying do 10 more.” Such advice could hurt you physically and cause you to lose focus on “the more important things” in life.

In addition, fitness inspiration can backfire. A lot of girls save pictures of people they want to look like, and they look at those pictures when they lack motivation. But they end up comparing themselves with those people and get discouraged. It’s better to make it a goal to improve your health, not just your appearance.

Keep Yourself Moving

Exert yourself. Leading a physically active life can help us feel happier, think more clearly, have more energy, be more productive and, along with proper diet, control our weight.

Exercise need not be painful or extreme to be effective. Regular periods of moderate exercise several times a week can be very beneficial.

Jogging, brisk walking, biking, and taking part in active sports—enough both to get your heart beating faster and to cause you to break a sweat—can improve your endurance and help to prevent heart attack and stroke.

Combining such aerobic exercise with moderate weight training and calisthenics helps to strengthen your bones, internal muscles, and limbs. These activities also contribute to maintaining a higher metabolism, which automatically helps to control your weight.

Use your feet. Exercise is beneficial for people of all ages, and membership in a gym is not required to get it. Simply using your feet instead of a car, bus, or elevator is a good start.

Why wait for a ride when you can walk to your destination, perhaps even arriving there faster? Parents should encourage their children to participate in physical play, outdoors whenever possible. Such activity strengthens their bodies and helps them to develop whole-body coordination in ways that sedentary entertainment, such as video games, cannot.

No matter how old you are when you start, you can benefit from moderate physical exercise. If you are older or have health problems and have not been exercising, it is wise to consult a doctor about how to begin. But do begin! Exercise that is started gradually and not overdone can help even the oldest among us to maintain muscle strength and bone mass. It can also help seniors to avoid falls

“If exercise were a pill, it would be the most widely prescribed medication in the world.” (Emory University School of Medicine) Of all the things we can do for our health, few are more generally helpful than physical exercise.
